POEMS

"RAIN"

By M. C. DeSouza © 2017

Outside, the wind howls,

 a lonely and desperate cry,

 the clouds roll in,

and all seek shelter, ev'ry person, ev'ry bird, ev'ry fly.

 Thunder booms.

 The sky shook with fright,

 sheds a tear.

 No one can comfort it,

and our sky explodes with light.

Why, why does rain always come with pain?

In every drop comes more sorrow,

woven into massive shards of water.

Yet, as all things do, it has a reason,

to bring growth, love, and birth,

 in the new season.
